Heartsaver First Aid & CPR:
Become a lay rescuer by learning how to assess and respond to an injury or illness emergency until professional help arrives. This course teaches basic first aid and choking relief. Course completion cards will be issued upon successful completion of training. Contact us to enroll or arrange a class.
Course Objective:
© First aid steps for medical emergencies:
o Breathing problems
o Chest pains and heart attack
o Fainting
o Diabetes
o Stroke
o Seizures
© First aid steps for injury emergencies:
o Bleeding you can see
o Mouth and tooth injuries
o Shock
o Broken bones, sprains, and bruises
o Bleeding you can't see
o Burns and electrocution
© First aid for environmental emergencies: (optional)
o Bites and stings
o Temperature-related emergencies
o Poison emergencies
© Learn and demonstrate CPR skills:
o Adult/child CPR
o Infant CPR (optional)
© Choking:
o List signs of choking
o How to help a choking victim
o 911-answering dispatchers questions
Course Length:
© First Aid 1.5 hours approx.
© CPR (adult/child) 1 hour approx.
© CPR (infant) 40 minutes approx. (optional)
